I walk, down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I fall in.
I'm lost... I am helpless It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in the same place. But, it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I still fall in . . . It's a habit.
My eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.
I walk down another street

I am extremely leery of any quick fix solution or overnight formula for success. In my opinion, they don't exist. With that said, the following formula is one that I have recently shared with 2 members of my family to encourage them to break through the rut they are in and experience success. Therefore, if I would share it with my family, I must believe in the principles. I suggested that they begin to regularly do these three things:
1. Surround themselves with positive people who believe that this life is not all that there is. Personally, I find this at my local church. This email goes out to thousands of people all over the world. I know we don't share the same faith in all cases. This message is not about my faith. It is about you finding a group of people who regularly meet together and have a belief that there is more to life than what we see. This is the first step to a positive outlook on life.
2. You must exercise weekly in order to stimulate endorphins and maintain an energetic life. The exercise of walking to the kitchen or curling 12 ounces does not count as exercise. I run 1 mile twice a week and 2-3 days a week do strength training. This is nothing difficult but it makes a major difference on my attitude.
3. You MUST educate yourself through reading. The average CEO in America reads 4-5 books per month. The average American reads one book per year and 60% of us don't get past the first chapter! Make a promise to yourself to read at least one book per month. Read anything!

softest thing
Daode jing (43.):
The softest thing in the world
Will overcome the hardest.
Non-being can enter where there is no space.
Therefore I know the benefit of unattached action.
The wordless teaching and unattached action
Are rarely seen.
When people are born ...
Tao Te Ching(76.):
When people are born they are gentle and soft.
At death they are hard and stiff.
When plants are alive they are soft and delicate.
When they die, they wither and dry up.
Therefore the hard and stiff are followers of death.
The gentle and soft are the followers of life.
Thus, if you are aggressive and stiff, you won't win.
When a tree is hard enough, it is cut. Therefore
The hard and big are lesser,
The gentle and soft are greater.

"I wake up in the morning and I consciously create my day the way I want it to happen. Now sometimes, because my mind is examining all the things that I need to get done, it takes me a little bit to settle down and get to the point of where I'm actually intentionally creating my day. But here's the thing: When I create my day and out of nowhere little things happen that are so unexplainable, I know that they are the process or the result of my creation. And the more I do that, the more I build a neural net in my brain that I accept that that's possible. (This) gives me the power and the incentive to do it the next day.
"So if we're consciously designing our destiny, and if we're consciously from a spiritual standpoint throwing in with the idea that our thoughts can affect our reality or affect our life -- because reality equals life -- then I have this little pact that I have when I create my day. I say, 'I'm taking this time to create my day and I'm infecting the quantum field. Now if (it) is in fact the observer's watching me the whole time that I'm doing this and there is a spiritual aspect to myself, then show me a sign today that you paid attention to any one of these things that I created, and bring them in a way that I won't expect, so I'm as surprised at my ability to be able to experience these things. And make it so that I have no doubt that it's come from you,' and so I live my life, in a sense, all day long thinking about being a genius or thinking about being the glory and the power of God or thinking about being unconditional love.
"I'll use living as a genius, for example. And as I do that during parts of the day, I'll have thoughts that are so amazing, that cause a chill in my physical body, that have come from nowhere. But then I remember that that thought has an associated energy that's produced an effect in my physical body. Now that's a subjective experience, but the truth is is that I don't think that unless I was creating my day to have unlimited thought, that that thought would come."

Positive vs. Negative
How To Win the Battle: Positive vs. Negative Thoughts
[From Think and Grow Rich Blog]
It really is very simple.
You move toward your most predominant thought.
So, if you want to achieve your goals, you must keep your goals foremost in your mind... in a positive and energetic light.
In the chapter on "The Subconscious Mind", Napoleon says,
"You may voluntarily plant in your subconscious mind any plan, thought, or purpose which you desire to translate into its physical or monetary equivalent."
He further details,
"The subconscious mind acts first on the dominating desires which have been mixed with emotional feeling, such as faith."
In essence,
Your Dominant Thought + Feeling Behind the Thought = Your Reality
In the chapter on The Subconscious Mind, Napoleon talks about the fact that we have the choice of putting negative emotions around our thoughts, or positive emotions.
Of course, it's essential to keep your emotions positive.
The great thing is that you can "overwhelm" any negative thoughts by constantly "feeding" your mind positive thoughts (while you're in the alpha brain wave state... in other words, relaxed).
So here's what you're up against, according to Napoleon...
The Seven Major Negative Emotions:
Fear
Jealousy
Hatred
Revenge
Greed
Superstition
Anger
which you will combat by replacing them with...
The Seven Major Positive Emotions:
Desire
Faith
Love
Sex
Enthusiasm
Romance
Hope
Now that you know what you're up against...
it's time for some self-inspection.
What negative emotions are controlling you (even a little bit)?
What positive emotions can you feed your mind to replace those negative emotions?
You then need to include in your daily "6 Steps" reading, statements to yourself that you now have (faith, desire, romance, ...) and that you "own now" these positive emotions.
By repeating these positive reinforcing statements to yourself daily, you will overwhelm and override the negative emotions stopping you for reaching your goals.
